Sharon Young
Studio Manager and Polestar Instructor
Sharon is often the first smile you’ll see at RP. Inspired by Joseph Pilates’ vision of whole-body health, she embraces the use of breath, alignment, and control as powerful tools to connect mind, body, and spirit, helping clients develop strength that supports them both in and out of the studio.
Movement has always been part of Sharon’s life. Her mother was a professional dancer and has been a Pilates instructor since the ’90s, and growing up in a movement-centered family shaped her early understanding of how the body works. Even so, Sharon explored her own path, developing a love for weight lifting, yoga, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Pilates returned to her in 2023 when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. The method helped relieve her muscle and joint pain, inflammation, and back pain, while also calming and supporting her nervous system - helping her reconnect to her body in a deeply restorative way. This personal transformation, combined with her lifelong desire to help others, made it clear that she wanted to guide people through the same sense of relief, healing, and empowerment.
Sharon also holds a Plant-Based Medicine Certification from Cornell University, enriching her holistic, whole-person approach to wellness. She believes Pilates is truly movement medicine and hopes to help clients feel supported, strong, and empowered through movement. She looks forward to welcoming you to the studio and being part of your Pilates journey.
