What makes Raleigh Pilates different from classical Pilates?

Classical Pilates follows Joseph Pilates’ original sequence, technique, and equipment design. Contemporary Pilates builds on that foundation using modern movement science and updated apparatus, allowing for more variation and personalization.

At Raleigh Pilates, we consider ourselves contemporary Pilates rooted in tradition. You’ll still hear the original exercise names and learn the classical repertoire, but on modern equipment and with a teaching style that supports today’s bodies.

We honor the method while also prioritizing your individual fitness goals—strength, mobility, recovery, and simply feeling better in your body.

Studio Offerings

  • Private Sessions

    One on one sessions carefully tailored to the body set before us. The client will receive a thoughtfully constructed, individualized, appropriately modified and challenging exercise program.

  • Rae Mathews, Elizabeth Fortener, Raleigh Pilates

    Group Classes

    Our group classes can accomodate up to 8 people and will include various apparatus, giving the client opportunity to experience challenging exercises on multiple apparatus!

  • Semi Private Sessions

    Semi Private Sessions

    Available for groups of 2-3 people. You and your friends will receive hands on instruction and a movement routine that is tailored to each individual attending regardless of past pilates experience. You must bring your own group!

  • Pre + Post Natal Series

    6 classes carefully curated for new and expecting moms. This class series focuses on pelvic floor and overall core strength as well as mobility exercises intended to help you feel your best during this major life moment and beyond.
